Abstract

Small grains cereals, especially wheat, have great importance as a source of food for an ever growing world population and in economy of each state as well. On the end of XX century, agriculture is confronted between the need for increasing of food production and degradation of natural resources. The purpose of science is to help obtaining the yield as high as possible, to provide growers with the new varieties, necessary seed and plant health management and growing systems, and in such a way to ensure both a higher yield potential and the means to produce cereals more nearly at its potential. In order to help in realization of this goal into perspective, it is useful to think about sustainable improvement of grain productivity and quality in small grains
