The analysis of interdependence of the weight of carcass and weights of basic broiler carcass parts

Abstract

The data obtained by measuring the processed and cooled carcasses, as well as the data for the weight of the basic carcass parts, out of a total of the 30 Hybro line hybrid broilers (15 male and 15 female chickens) were used for the correlation regressive interdependence analysis. Prior to slaughter, processing and dissection of the processed carcasses, a seven-week fattening of a great number of chickens was carried out and trial chickens were randomly selected.

Based on the correlation-regression interdependence analysis, the following may be stated:

- A positive correlation between the weight of carcass and weights of basic carcass parts, which ranged from being total, very strong, strong to moderate, was determined. The strongest correlative dependence was established between the carcass and drumstick weights (r,, = 0.956), whereas the lowest one between the carcass and pelvis weights( r,y= 0.304).

- The highest variability percent was determined by linear interconnection or regression.

- With the carcass weight increase by the unit of weight (1 g), the weight of some basic carcass parts also increased. The breast weight increase was the highest( by 0.345 g in femalesa nd 0.292 g in males),w hereasth e pelvis weight grew the least (by 0.100 g in females and 0.058 g in males).
