The effect of microclimatic conditions on production results of parental hen flocks

Abstract

With the aim of studying the effects of some microclimatic factors on the production results of parental flocks of the Hisex Brown hybrid, the data on three flocks of these hens were analyzed under conditions without regulated temperature and air humidity, but depending on the natural daily and periodical fluctuations of these factors in the environment outside the object.

Based upon the results of analysis, no significant differences were evidenced between parental hen flocks in respect of the individual indicators of success in raising (breeding, diet consumption and mortality). However, comparing with standard, i.e. the average results achieved in optimal housing conditions regarding microclimatic factors, the flocks under study gave much poorer results. In other words, microclimatic factors inside the object are presumed unavoidable factors which must be regulated in order that hens parental flocks genetic potential be expressed for the high production of eggs for setting.
