Abstract

Stone moroco (Pseudorasbora parva Schi., 1842) represents a newly introduced fish species in the waters of the western Serbian regions. It was first recognised in 1991 in the Međuvršje reservoir as a major fishery region of the whole area. The basic fish meristic and ecological features were analyzed on the sample comprising 97 individuals caught at the reservoir profiles. A significantly high population density of this trash fish endangered the autochthonous fish fauna.
