Livestock production system and animal genetic resources preservation and utilisation

Abstract

Some of the significant changes taking place in the livestock production, particularly those in the animal genetic resources in Serbia of how to be used and preserved have been put forth in the paper. In addition to preserving the existing biodiversity, a good-tech use of the autochthonous genetic material of the cattle and poultry strains and breeds would be provided when producing intrinsically healthy diet and when paving the way for as economical production process and environmental protection as possible.
